Step 1

**DO A SMALL TEST AREA**

Check that the stain is from rust or battery acid rather than paint, automotive oils, or other substances.

Hints:

  • Before doing a large area be sure that you are happy with the effects of the product. If so, use over the whole area, if used only in spots, those spots may appear as much cleaner and brighter areas than the rest of your concrete or masonry.

  • While our product works best on rust stains, it can also wash away dirt and weathering. Its best use is for stone or masonry surfaces that have been marked by fertilizers or iron rust stains.

  • If desired to only do a few spots, the clean spots will eventually become weathered to match the rest of your concrete.

sTEP 2

Mix the product with water as suggested on packaging to create a thick Gel.

Immediately apply a thick layer of the Gel onto the desired rust stains.

Hints:

  • Do not pre-wet your concrete it will dilute the gel and make it less effective!

  • A thick layer of gel over the affected area will ensure a better reaction.

  • Our product loses potency over time once mixed with water. Use it immediately to gain maximum cleaning power. It lose half of its activity in 4 hours once mixed.

Step 3

Let stand for a few minutes or longer depending on the severity of the stain. An average time for a mid level stains are 3-15 minutes. For light stains no scrubbing is required. On heavy stains a little scrubbing may be used to move the product through the layers of build up.

Though this product is made primarily for rust. We have some luck with battery acid stains. Battery acid stains will take more product and possibly multiple applications.

Once stain is removed. Wash away generously with water including any grassy areas around the application site. IF the product is left to dry the stain will redeposit on your concrete.

Hints:

  • While our product is environmentally friendly, during the removal process the product produces some heat and should be watered down thoroughly on any vegetation it may come in contact with.
